We are Jim and Janet Bromham, and we established Lochside Associates in 2016 as an environmental consultancy business specialising in aquaculture planning, project management and environmental work. PROJECTS
It is still early days for the business but Jim is working on several aquaculture projects. He has also been undertaking some invasive non-native species clearance work on the River Nairn catchment. We hope to continue this mix of desk-based and practical work as the business progresses.
Janet has been focusing on the business start-up and management. In her previous job as Biodiversity Officer she co-ordinated many partnership projects such as the Highland Seashore Project, which trained 86 seashore surveyors and held over 40 events with over 5,000 attendees.
EXPERIENCE
Jim worked as a Fishery Officer for the South Wales Sea Fisheries Committee before moving to the Highlands in 1997 to manage the Tain Mussel Fishery. In 1999 he was appointed to the role of Aquaculture Development Officer in Highland Council Planning Service. This role included strategic planning & aquaculture development management.
Janet has worked for SNH, RSPB and the Cairngorms Partnership. She joined Highland Council as its Biodiversity Officer in 2002, and has delivered a number of large projects to help raise awareness and improve habitats for wildlife.
