ABOUT US
We are Jim and Janet Bromham, and Lochside Associates is a new consultancy business specialising in aquaculture planning, project management and environmental work.
We aim:
-
To advise and assist aquaculture businesses to site and operate their fish and shellfish farms in a sustainable manner with minimal environmental impact.
-
To assist agencies, organisations, land managers and community groups with funding applications, project management and facilitation services to help deliver environmental programmes and strategies such as the Highland Biodiversity Action Plan.
We worked for Highland Council for 19 and 14 years respectively, Jim as a Fishery Manager / Aquaculture Development Officer and Janet as a Biodiversity Officer. Through these roles, we have built up a wealth of knowledge and experience in aquaculture planning, environmental legislation and project management, and we have a broad skill set to undertake a wide range of contracts for public, private or third sector clients.
The Council offered a voluntary redundancy package as part of a budget saving exercise in early 2016, and we both took advantage of this opportunity to set up our own business providing advice on environmental and aquaculture matters.
Jim Bromham
Jim is assisting aquaculture businesses through the provision of sound planning advice, and helping them address local concerns through appropriate siting to minimise environmental impact. He is very competent with the GIS and IT packages needed for this kind of work.
Janet Bromham
Janet hopes to help clients to secure funding and undertake projects which will help Highland wildlife. She co-ordinated the drafting and delivery of the Highland Biodiversity Acton Plan, and is experienced in project management, event organisation, report writing, interpretation and community work.
