PROJECTS

AQUACULTURE PLANNING
We provide advice to fish and shellfish farming businesses to help them secure planning and other permissions and minimise environmental impacts. Jim has an in-depth knowledge of the planning process, as well as broad practical experience of the applications required for other aquaculture related licensing. He has excellent IT and GIS skills, which he is applying to forward planning and site evaluation on the projects currently underway.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT
We can deliver projects on behalf of one or more clients, covering everything from the drafting and submission of funding bids and reports to the co-ordination of events, support of volunteers and delivery of physical works such as species surveys and habitat improvements. Janet has excellent contacts across the Highlands, and is very experienced in delivering projects with many different partner organisations, contractors and local groups on time and to budget.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
We can work with community groups or communities of interest to deliver projects to raise awareness, facilitate learning through training, or help draw together plans for practical works. Janet has worked with many Highland communities over the last 20 years to deliver a range of environmental and wildlife-related projects.

LAND MANAGEMENT
We are helping to control invasive non-native species on the River Nairn catchment, working with the Fisheries Trust and local landowners. Jim recently gained a City & Guilds NPTC qualification which enables him to apply herbicide via backpack sprayer or stem injection. We hope to help deliver co-operative habitat improvement projects arising from the Highland Biodiversity Action Plan or other relevant environmental strategies through the Environmental Co-operation Action Fund and other funding sources.
